X-Cell what to look for

When trying to date a model look at the parts which  normally would NOT be updated as part of a repair. Key indicators may be the elevator arm assembly, clutch, control linkage and tail hub.

Bent frames have not been available for years. This with the fact that bent frames were subject to cracking, means that many early "Bent Frame" models may have been upgraded to either aluminum or graphite stacked frames.

Elevator arm: The elevator arm is a good dating indicator as it is seldom damaged  in a crash. The migration has been  from bushing plastic to ball bearing plastic to two piece aluminum to one piece aluminum.

Clutch: Does it have the silver clutch bell?  The gold clutch bell became standard in 1999.

Linkage: Does it have the pull/pull linkage? The plastic arm pull/pull has been standard since 1999, The metal arm was used prior to that.

Tail hub: Does it have the Delta tail hub.

The blades, fins and canopy are commonly replaced as the result of a crash. Newer components are not necessarily a good indicators of a newer model, but older fins or canopies may date a model.

Remember, there is
no such thing as a Custom Graphite and the 99 SE will have the all metal head, split gear constant tail drive, and the fancy gold ball bearing tail pitch control.

General updates: Depending on the build date of the kit, some of the components shown may not match. When X-Cell updates a part, the updated part is then included in current kits.

Swashplate: It is my understanding that since the Fury has been released that the "spider" swashplate is no longer shipped in any kit.

Bearing blocks: New bearing blocks are now threaded instead of the through-hole mounting (eliminate bearing preload).
